I suppose I was born into this business. I tried to deny it when I was younger, but it was basically like trying to stop the inevitable. You see, I have the gift of talking. Not the kind where you want to run away from me as I approach you in a social setting, but the kind where I can listen to what you have to say, quickly analyze it, and return volley with a quick-witted answer or a poignant response when needed. I have to admit that this was inherited from my father. He owned a very successful Real Estate Brokerage in the 70’s and 80’s and it seemed to have rubbed off. I have a feeling that he knew I would be good at this job when I was younger, but he allowed me to pursue all of my other ambitions until they brought me full circle which was actually right back to this business. I could bore you with where I was in the interim, but instead I’ll tell you where I am right now.
I merged my company with Prudential Serls in January of 2008 after I was approached by Steven Domber. I was excited to find out that I was going to manage the Fishkill Office mostly because the building itself was spectacular. What I neglected to realize at the time was that the agents and the employees were actually more of an attraction. I was welcomed into their home with open (albeit slightly pensive) arms and the transition was smoother than anyone expected. I was extremely comforted by the fact that Steven had promised that I would be allowed to run the office in the same fashion as my past company and even more thrilled that my new team was very receptive to that.
It has been an amazing time thus far and the future gets brighter every day. So in hindsight, I would like to thank my Dad, Steven Domber, and most of all, my incredible wife Shannon and our children Casey and Katie, because as much as I love my office, it would mean nothing if I didn’t have them to come home to.
I know this seems a bit long winded, but if you recall the first paragraph it was my gift of talking that got me here.
