Michael Thompson, COO, Go Smart Solutions, LLC

As chief operating officer, Michael Thompson assists with all aspects of Go Smart Solutions LLC’s daily procedures, including overseeing in-house operations and systems support; managing servers, database, backup procedures and other internal software; and handling employee issues.

With more than 12 years experience as a professional software design contractor and telecommunications system engineer, Thompson has an extensive background using Microsoft Server technologies, Apache server installation and configuration, as well as MySQL, PHP, VB and .NET experience. Prior to working for Go Smart Solutions LLC, Thompson served as an information systems specialist for the United States Postal Service, a telecommunications systems installation engineer for Northrop Grumman and earned the rank of military police sergeant in the United States Army.

Thompson has attended both Pasadena City College in Pasadena, Calif., and the American River College in Sacramento, Calif. A lifetime member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, Thompson has received many honors, including two Army Achievement Medal's, Soldier of the Year and Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter.

Raised in Burbank, Calif., Thompson currently resides in Santa Maria, Calif., with his wife, Melanie, and two son's. When not working, he enjoys working on old cars, hiking, boating, traveling with his family and participating in community walks and runs for breast cancer and hunger awareness.
