Carlos A. Amaro, has had an extensive entrepreneurial and professional career in the private and public sector.
President and founder of the Minas Group Inc., an international management and consulting company, He was founding partner of Just In Time Services, Inc., a freight forwarding and logistics company which provides logistics services to the private sector and U.S. government.
In the private sector, he has developed expertise in the start up of companies, sales, marketing and distribution. He managed the start up operations in the U.S., Latin America and Canada as Vice President / General Manager for Palex Medical, Inc, Palex Medical Latin America, Inc. both subsidiaries of biomedical multinational giant B. Braun Medical in Melsungen, Germany.
In the public sector, he has directed economic development efforts at the local and state levels focusing on international trade, reverse investment, real estate and industrial site selections, joint ventures and export development. Organized numerous overseas trade missions and industry shows including the first I.O.G A. trade mission to Europe (Spain) for the State of Florida. Coordinated the state site selection process for the Spanish tourism attraction Medieval Times located in Orlando.
He served as Vice President of the International Division, during the start up of the Beacon Council, Miami Dade County’s public-private economic development partnership in Miami. Also served as International Representative for the Florida Department of Commerce, Bureau of International Trade and Development (Presently known as Enterprise Florida) during the Graham and Martinez administrations. During his tenure in these positions he managed a portfolio of millions of dollars in reverse investment projects.
Has served on Governor Jeb Bush’s statewide Small Business Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Spain U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
He is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in International Affairs and also attended international programs at Thunderbird in Arizona for course work in international economic development. Carlos Amaro is also a Florida licensed Realtor.
