Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1957 Mercedes 220 S Cabriolet in Red with Bamboo leather interior and Black soft top. California car sold new by Hollywood Mercedes. Previous owner undertook an exhaustive restoration which purportedly cost well in excess of $100,000. We have lots of receipts totalling $60,000 + mostly from '96 to '98. $15,000 or so spent in the last 12 months. Runs and drives and is "on the button". There are undoubtedly some minor parts missing The body is superb - panel fit is excellent, paint is to a very high standard. Chrome is new on the:- bumpers, grill, window frames, windshield frame, door handles, lic plate lights, etc. Original engine and trans completely restored with several photos to document - fantastic detail under the hood where everything looks to be new - brake booster, radiator, wiring loom, etc. Interior is superb, carpets need to be redone - not the sides or centers just the mats as they got dirty and worn during the restoration. Seats are great, leather all new - even the chrome on the sides has been redone. Dash redone but not to the standard of the rest of the car. Door panels all new. Soft top frame restored. New top and liner, top latches have been installed since photos. Plus all Chrome strips have been aquired (allthough a couple do need to be chromed) New tires all round. Superb underside and trunk. Car is titled to its engine number which is very typical for California cars registered in the 50's and 60's.
