MYTH: "7 coats of wax will give you the best shine"
TRUTH: There is no need to apply more than one coat of wax to a car. Too much wax can leave the finish with a dull look instead of a clean and shiny one. When you wax a car then buff it with a cloth, you are already taking off the excess wax so why would anyone reapply a wax? That's just wasting product.

MYTH: "Use motor oil to give tires a long lasting shine "
TRUTH: Motor oil will damage your tires due to the chemical composition of the oil. Motor oil is so heavy that when you drive your car, the oil will sling onto your panels, staining the finish.

MYTH: "I don't need my car waxed, the machine shoots pink wax at the end of the wash tunnel "
TRUTH: That pink wax is only an optical brightener, offering no protection whatsoever. You must get your car hand waxed every three months or at every oil change to preserve the finish in it's new condition.

MYTH: "If you put Teflon on it, you will never have to wax it again "
TRUTH: Yes, Teflon is a non-stick chemical, however, there has been much controversy in the detailing industry about Teflon. After many research tests, studies show that is has no extra effect in protection of your vehicle. Teflon can be considered a gimmick when it comes to paint protection.

MYTH: "Engine washing and detailing is bad for your car "
TRUTH: An engine is made to withstand water and moisture. The only way a detailer can harm an engine while detailing is he/she aims the pressure washer at the air intake housing, spraying water into the filter and intake. Engines are sealed from water and moisture. If water was bad for your engine, wouldn't you run into trouble every time it rained or drove through a puddle? It is true that an engine can stall if the internals of the distributor cap get wet, but after drying everything should be fine. A well detailed engine can help a mechanic find where any leaks might occur.
