Athens GA real estate

The real estate market is stll going at a pretty good pace in Athens.  We have seen a slow down over the past few months and according to the statistics, the number of sales is down in the 4th quarter comparison (665 in 2006 and 527 in 2007).  We do have more homes on the market than ever before but the best ones seem to sell, even if the prices do seem to be getting slightly lower.  So, if you're in the market to buy, this is a great time.  Sellers that must sell are seeing that many other sellers are willing to take less so that's forcing everyone to reconsider their asking prices. We are seeing many price reductions just to keep home prices competitive with others in the same area.
